CHANGES
On January 1, Dr. Richard Barohn assumed the Chairmanship of the Department of the Neurology at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. Dr. Barohn was the acting chair of the Department of Neurology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas where he had been since 1993. Dr. Barohn serves on the national medical advisory boards for the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation and the Guillain–Barré Syndrome Foundation International. His current research focuses on myopathies and motor neuron disease. He has written over 100 journal publications and more than 30 book chapters on various aspects of neuromuscular disease.
Richard Barohn
Dr. Joseph Broderick is now chair of the Department of Neurology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He began his term on April 1, 2000. Dr. Broderick has been with the University of Cincinnati for over 13 years. He has been instrumental in developing methods to treat emergency neurology patients more effectively. In addition to this, his research interests focus on the genetic and environmental causes of stroke and he currently directs three major research studies funded by the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Broderick has authored over 200 publications.
