Discharge outcomes were better when destination was acute rehabilitation (vs home; OR 0.5;CI 0.3–0.9;P=0.04).Conclusions: Discharge outcomes are affected by multiple factors. Some of these (post-discharge call back, timely scheduling of follow-up visits and tests) can be remediated through readily implementable institutional protocols which can increase healthcare quality and reduce costs.
